Ray Bongers, Owner
After growing up on a dairy farm in Gainesville, Florida, Ray moved to Atlanta to attend college at Emory University. Upon graduation he worked as a corporate banker but after three years decided to make a career move into home building. Working first for a large production homebuilder and later for a high-end remodeling company he was able to see the full spectrum of the industry. After several years he recognized that while many intown homes are good candidates for remodeling there were also a large number of 1960's ranches that made more sense to demolish. The inherent higher cost to remodel a home versus building a new home led him to found Bongers HomeBuilders in 2000. With a focus on rebuilding new homes in older neighborhoods Bongers HomeBuilders has built over 100 custom homes over the last 11 years.
Tammy Dammann, Office Manager and Accounting
Tammy not only works for Bongers HomeBuilders, but she has been a client as well—twice. She met Ray in 2000, the year he started Bongers HomeBuilders and became his second client. She had her first home built in 2001 and then had a new house built in 2009. She has a degree from Georgia Southern University and resides in Decatur, GA with her husband Sean and two children Carter and Carlin. She also sings in a band alongside her husband during her free time.
Andrew Hodor, Project Manager
Andrew is originally from Gainesville, FL and comes from a family of builders and land developers. Ray and Andrew have known each other since grade school and both attended college at Emory University, graduating in 1995. Andrew specializes in site engineering and planning and development. Andrew lives in Midtown with his dog La'Vern.
Dave Price, Designer
After graduating from Georgia Tech, Dave has worked in residential design throughout metro Atlanta but has specialized on intown neighborhoods. While he does all the home designs for Bongers HomeBuilders he also designs many of the high-end remodeled homes you may see in the Virginia Highlands, Emory Village and Decatur. He lives in Morningside with his wife Gayle and daughters Zoe and Sylvia.
While also being Ray's wife, Heather is a designer as well with a degree in Architecture from the University of Florida. Working both in commercial design and residential she handles some design work but primarily our marketing and community outreach programs.
Brian Sprague, Project Manager
After seeing the world in the Army and a stint working in Hawaii, Brian met his wife Tammy in Georgia and decided to plant roots in Atlanta. Over the last 20 years Brian has worked solely in residential construction as a project manager for several large homebuilders. He joined Bongers HomeBuilders in 2008 and has been a valued team member since.
